Blackberry-Glazed Ribs
These blackberry-glazed ribs bring together the rich sweetness of blackberry jam and the smoky flavor of barbecue sauce for an unforgettable backyard barbecue favorite. Slow-cooked until tender and finished on the grill with a sticky glaze, these ribs deliver the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
- 3 to 4 pounds baby back ribs, membrane removed (about 2 racks)
- 1 1/4 cups blackberry jam
- 3/4 cup Jimmy P's BBQ Sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF.
- In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
- Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet and season both sides evenly with the spice mixture. Wrap the ribs tightly in foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- While the ribs cook, combine the blackberry jam, Jimmy P's BBQ Sauce, and lime juice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Transfer 1 cup of the glaze to a small serving bowl and reserve for later.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 275ยฐF and continue cooking the ribs until the meat is tender and beginning to pull away from the bones, about 1 to 1ยฝ hours.
- Preheat a grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the ribs from the foil and brush generously with the remaining blackberry glaze.
- Place the ribs on the grill, meat side down. Cook while basting with additional glaze and turning occasionally until the exterior becomes sticky, caramelized, and lightly charred, about 5 to 8 minutes.
- Transfer the ribs to a cutting board and allow them to rest for a few minutes before slicing between the bones.
- Serve with the reserved blackberry barbecue sauce on the side.
